Abstract:
On July 31, 2008, Mahindra & Mahindra, one of India’s leading automotive companies in India, entered the two-wheeler market by acquiring the two-wheeler business of Kinetic Motors Co. Ltd. (KMCL). Subsequently a joint venture, Mahindra Kinetic Scooters and Motorcycles Ltd, was formed with M&M and KMCL holding stakes of 80% and 20% respectively. In early 2009, the JV was evaluating all options including technological partnerships as well as acquisitions to bolster its presence in the two-wheeler segment
